NAYOME NEW RELEASE PERSONAL
Today were getting PERSONAL with Nayome…. sorry we couldnt help it. On a serious note, there’s nothing more we appreciate than when an artist is purely raw and real with their listeners and that’s exactly what Nayome serves us with her latest release “Personal.”
THE HONEY: WHAT IS THE STORY/MESSAGE WITH YOUR PROJECT? WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION?
NAYOME: “‘Personal’ for me stands for ‘personal experiences really shift our navigation around love!’ It is almost like my musical diary of my personal experiences whether it was hurt, (Wrong Me feat Eimaral Sol), love (F*cking with you), joy (I Wasn’t Done), or curiosity (Do You Mind / Show Me.) I had strict intentions for this project, I really wanted to innovate the R&B sound and get experimental. Deezie Brown, the executive producer had a clear understanding of that and completely came through on the productions. Once I heard the beats, they already told a story and it was easy for me to put words to the beautiful productions.”
THE HONEY: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LYRIC OF THE SONG? BREAK IT DOWN FOR US!
NAYOME: “My favorite song has to be ‘Wrong Me,’ with Eimaral Sol. It created some new vulnerability for me when it comes to expressing heartbreak. The mini mantra that we created in the song states, ‘can’t run, can’t hide, karma coming and she on my side.’ It felt so empowering to call this person out via music! I hope people are able to resonate and sing along with the mantra!”
THE HONEY: ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT TO SHARE?
NAYOME: “I’m very proud of this ‘Personal’ EP because all of the producers and musicians involved are local to Texas! I had the privilege to work alongside Deezie Brown, who produced, ‘Show me,’, “Fucking With You,’ (feat Deezie), and ‘Wrong Me’ (feat Eimaral Sol.) Nate Cooper, who produced the fun track, ‘I Wasn’t Done’, Kevin Antoine who played saxophone on ‘Fucking WIth You,’ and ‘Do You Mind,’ Eimaral Sol, who featured on ‘Wrong Me,’ and Sam Houston who produced ‘Do You Mind.'”
