Averi Burk has released “Gravity,” in honor of Pride Month for the gays, the theys and everybody in between. “Gravity,” inspired by a night out with her girlfriend, is a track to move your body to. We’re so excited for “Gravity” because it’s different from any other release we have heard from Averi Burk; With usual notes of Retro Punk this is a more lightweight track that makes us feel like we’re floating. Be careful while listening because you might feel the pull of gravity and end up with someone on the dance floor.
THE HONEY: WHAT IS THE STORY/MESSAGE WITH YOUR SONG “GRAVITY”? WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION?
AVERI BURK: “I wrote this about a night my girlfriend and I went dancing. It was a couple years back and we were just friends at the time but we definitely felt something a little more that night. I wanted to release something for pride month and I don’t really have many songs that are dancey so I Brandon Saiz and I ventured out and gravity happened!”
THE HONEY: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LYRIC OF THE SONG? BREAK IT DOWN FOR US!
AVERI BURK: “‘this orange yellow flicker beat, do you feel it
if you do come on over to me’
That line is a direct shoutout to Lorde’s song “Yellow Flicker Beat” hehe 🙂 shoutout the queen! Did y’all catch it though?? ;)”
THE HONEY: ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT TO SHARE ABOUT THIS SONG?
AVERI BURK: “Have fun with this one!!! Play it at the gym, on a run, before you go out, if you need to get pumped up, etc! DANCE YOUR ASS OFF 🤍”
