We would like to introduce you to Reggie Pearl; an ethereal being with an ethereal voice to match. Listening to Reggies music, we have become entranced by her vocals and it was only natural that we wanted to know more about her. Today, Reggie Pearl is sharing everything that went into her newest release “Get Low,” including being honest with yourself and exploring ones sexuality.
THE HONEY: WHAT IS THE STORY/MESSAGE WITH YOUR SONG “GET LOW”? WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION?
REGGIE PEARL: “‘Get Low’ is an invitation to get honest with yourself, a situation, or to just sit with some of the heaviness of living in a patriarchal world. I wanted to explore the ways in which catholic guilt and internalized misogyny framed my sexuality as something heavy and untrustworthy for me while growing up.”
THE HONEY: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LYRIC OF THE SONG? BREAK IT DOWN FOR US!
REGGIE PEARL: “‘Was it the beer, or the lord, or the lesbian porn?
Spend your whole life fishing for something warm.’
Lol I think In the context of this song it’s a pretty good question to ask! All these themes in extreme can really mess with someone who’s trying to form a healthy relationship to sex or their own identity.”
THE HONEY: WE COULDN’T HELP BUT NOTICE YOUR BIO “HATCHED FROM AN EGG OVER 400 YEARS AGO.” WE WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHERE THAT CAME FROM IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE!
REGGIE PEARL: “I want the first thing you read about my music to be an invitation. Almost as if, I’m taking you with me into my sonic universe or your like opening the first page of my fairytale book <3”
THE HONEY: ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT TO SHARE ABOUT THIS SONG?
REGGIE PEARL: “My next single titled “Paint My Nails” comes out July 18th!”
