A-WALL NEW RELEASE AUTOPILOT

We are so excited to share A-Wall and his latest album release “Autopilot.” A-Wall has been on our radar for quite some time and you might actually know him from the viral Tik Tok sound “Bro who got you smiling like that!” from his song “Loverboy.” Thanks to his viral sound, A-Wall was able to emerge into his artistry and create “Autopilot,” where he shares his story with us through music. We have been so happy to see his growth as an artist and it has been very special to have him share with us today his journey and all that went into “Autopilot.”

THE HONEY: WHAT IS THE STORY/MESSAGE WITH YOUR ALBUM “AUTOPILOT”? WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION?

A-WALL: “With Autopilot, one of my biggest goals was to talk about my story as an artist and where I came from. I felt like I had gained a lot of new listeners who didn’t really know anything about me, because I had kept a lot of my personal life private and separate from my music at the time. Part of that was because I was actually going through a tough time in those early years as an artist. I was failing all my classes at my university and eventually dropped out. I was constantly working at dead end jobs because I had no money to my name. Combine that with going out every weekend to try to distract myself from everything, and it started to feel like I was stuck in this endless cycle, slowly running out of time. It was very lonely. I felt like I was literally going through life on autopilot waiting for it to inevitably crash. Music was the only thing that made me feel better about myself but I still wasn’t making any money off of it, so I always told people it was just a hobby. In fact, I was always doubting myself and my art and it wasn’t until I had that viral moment that I felt like I could do music full time. My life literally changed and whether I was ready for it or not, things began to move really fast out of nowhere. I think it’s an interesting story and one that maybe some artists could relate to.”

THE HONEY: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SONG ON THE ALBUM? BREAK IT DOWN FOR US!

A-WALL: “It changes depending on how I’m feeling but I think my favorite song currently is Nightcrawler. It’s a song about what my life might have looked like if I didn’t have music. I would literally have nothing going for me. I imagined I would’ve turned into this arrogant and cynical character that I called Nightcrawler. The type of person that’s always out at night, getting into trouble and somehow scraping by. A drifter with a hateful outlook on the world. But at the same time, the song isn’t sad or slow. Instead it’s actually loud and upbeat. It’s kind of like a metaphor for the fast-paced lifestyle he has.”

THE HONEY: IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT TO SHARE ABOUT “AUTOPILOT”? 

A-WALL: “This project meant a lot to me and I wanna thank everybody who listened to it and thank those that have been following my journey. I hope that my story with Autopilot can inspire any artists that are out there grinding everyday, waiting for their moment to come. Keep pushing, believe in yourself and give it everything you’ve got.”
