ALICE PISANO NEW RELEASE: BOYS LIKE YOU

London based artist Alice Pisano just released “Boys Like You,” which is the first track of her upcoming EP “Shattered But Still Cool.” She also just released a music video for “Boys Like You,” which you can find at the end of the article. Between the song and the visuals, “Boys Like You,” reflects Pisano’s experience with dating apps and reflects the feelings of failed dates and frustrating behaviors… Leaving her with the question, “Why do I always end up with boys like you?”

THE HONEY: WHAT IS THE STORY/MESSAGE WITH YOUR SONG? WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION?

ALICE PISANO: “It’s about my experience with dating apps… online dating can be fun but also frustrating, and can be detrimental to your self-esteem. Especially having to deal with behaviors like ghosting… but in the end I realized that it said a lot more about the other person than it said about me! I wanted to write a song about it so that hopefully other people going through the same thing feel less alone. I wrote it with Jez Ashurst (Little Mix, Maisie Peters, Tom Grennan).”

THE HONEY: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LYRIC OF THE SONG? BREAK IT DOWN FOR US!

ALICE PISANO: “Cause then they ghost you and it’s so damn rude’

I love how direct we managed to be with the lyrics, and it’s so funny how I’m now getting messages of apologies by some of those boys I wrote the song about!”

THE HONEY: ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT TO SHARE ABOUT THIS SONG?

ALICE PISANO: “There’s also a music video for the song on Youtube, where I go out on a number of first dates, and all the boys behave badly… We had so much fun filming it!”
