LAVOYCE NEW RELEASE BORED

If you haven’t listened to Bored by LaVoyce you need to go ahead and do that. It’s one of those songs that we all can relate to at some point in our lives. It reminds us of those moments where we just need something new and different in our lives before we go off-the-walls crazy. You know you’ve been there. We needed to know exactly what LaVoyce was referring to so we asked her a couple questions about her newest release that we can’t stop listening to.

THE HONEY: WHAT IS THE STORY/MESSAGE WITH YOUR SONG?

LAVOYCE: “Bored is pretty much about feeling stagnant or stuck in a routine, and you’re just bored of it. It’s reflecting on why I felt stuck, a longing to be free, and then at the end there’s a release. I feel like we’ve all gone through a point of feeling trapped and just wanting to break free from whatever is holding us in that place whether it be fear, circumstance, or will. It’s life you know, but it’s something you go through to grow through, and come out a new person. “

THE HONEY: WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION?

LAVOYCE: “The inspiration was just my life! This year things have been so unusual and disheartening, but it’s forced me to sit and really analyze my life, who I was, and who I wanted to be. I realized I wasn’t living as freely as I wanted and could be. I was holding myself back, and it was boring the hell out of me! I got tired of it and decided I was gonna start doing things genuinely my way, then I wrote Bored.”

THE HONEY: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LYRIC OF THE SONG? BREAK IT DOWN FOR US!

LAVOYCE: “’Stuck in my ways, counting the days, I can just spread my wings and fly.’ This is probably my favorite line because it explains that transition between being stuck, longing to be and anticipating that freedom coming.”
